INTAMSYS PPA-CF is an engineering-grade polyphthalamide filament reinforced with 15% chopped carbon fiber for increased stiffness, strength, dimensional stability, and heat resistance.

Polyphthalamide is a semi-crystalline aromatic polyamide engineered to outperform conventional Nylon 6 in demanding applications. It provides greater stiffness and strength, higher thermal capability, and significantly reduced sensitivity to moisture.

The reduced moisture sensitivity helps printed parts maintain their mechanical properties and dimensions in changing environmental conditions. This makes PPA-CF especially useful for functional components exposed to humidity, heat, long-term loading, and mechanically demanding operating environments.

Carbon-fiber reinforcement improves rigidity, wear resistance, creep resistance, fatigue resistance, and surface quality. The material is suitable for lightweight components that may replace certain machined-metal parts when reduced mass, corrosion resistance, and complex geometry are important.

INTAMSYS identifies PPA-CF as having approximately one-tenth the moisture absorption of standard PA6. It also provides low friction, self-lubricating behavior, strong wear resistance, dimensional stability, and high-quality printed surfaces.

The filament is supplied in black with a diameter of 1.75 mm. It is available in 750 g, 2 kg, and 3 kg spool sizes.

PPA-CF is officially listed as compatible with the INTAMSYS FUNMAT HT. Because it contains chopped carbon fiber, users should use the appropriate INTAMSYS wear-resistant nozzle or printhead configuration intended for abrasive, fiber-filled materials.

PPA materials remain moisture-sensitive even though PPA-CF absorbs substantially less moisture than standard PA6.
