Product Description

INTAMSYS PA6-CF is a carbon-fiber-reinforced PA6, or Nylon 6, filament designed for strong, rigid, and heat-resistant industrial parts.

According to INTAMSYS, the material contains 15% chopped carbon fiber. The carbon-fiber reinforcement provides high modulus while improving the material’s heat resistance, chemical resistance, rigidity, and surface quality.

PA6-CF is suitable for applications requiring more stiffness and dimensional stability than unreinforced nylon. Its mechanical and thermal characteristics make it useful for functional prototypes, manufacturing tools, automotive components, robotics parts, brackets, jigs, fixtures, and low-volume end-use production.

The material is supplied in black, with a filament diameter of 1.75 mm, and is currently listed in the supplied U.S. price sheet as a 1 kg spool.

PA6-CF is officially supported by the INTAMSYS FUNMAT PRO 310 NEO. Because it contains chopped carbon fiber, it must be used with the appropriate INTAMSYS wear-resistant nozzle designed for abrasive fiber-filled filaments.

For dual-material printing on the FUNMAT PRO 310 NEO, the current INTAMSYS compatibility matrix identifies SP3030 as the compatible water-soluble support material.

Compatibility

Compatible main product:

  • INTAMSYS FUNMAT PRO 310 NEO

The official FUNMAT PRO 310 NEO brochure and current INTAMSYS material compatibility matrix include PA6-CF among the printer’s validated materials.

Required printing hardware:

Use the FUNMAT PRO 310 NEO combined nozzle featuring a hardened-steel tip for fiber-filled materials.

The standard integrated CuCrZr nozzle is not intended for carbon-fiber-containing materials such as PA6-CF and PA12-CF.

INTAMSYS also recommends using one dedicated nozzle for one material whenever possible to support stable operation and simpler material management.

Storage and handling

PA6-based materials are moisture-sensitive and should be kept dry before and during printing.

  • Keep the filament sealed when not in use.
  • Store it in a cool, dry, well-ventilated location.
  • Protect it from moisture contamination.
  • Keep the container tightly closed.
  • Use a dry box or suitable filament-drying procedure when necessary.
  • Follow the drying instructions in the official Tech Sheet.
  • Keep the material away from heat, sparks, flames, and ignition sources.
  • Provide suitable exhaust ventilation during printing.
  • Wear gloves when handling hot or molten material.
  • Molten polymer can cause severe thermal burns.
  • Dust from sanding, drilling, cutting, or finishing may irritate the skin, eyes, throat, and respiratory system.
  • Wear appropriate protection during mechanical post-processing.
  • Take appropriate precautions against static discharge.
