Product Description

INTAMSYS PEKK is a high-performance polyetherketoneketone filament made using Arkema Kepstan® ingredients and developed for demanding industrial additive-manufacturing applications.

PEKK belongs to the polyaryletherketone family of high-performance polymers. Compared with conventional PEEK, its molecular structure reduces crystallization speed and lowers processing difficulty while improving material flow. These properties make PEKK more suitable for extrusion-based 3D printing and help produce parts with improved dimensional stability and surface quality.

The material provides excellent mechanical, thermal, and chemical properties while delivering particularly strong performance in the printed Z direction. Improved interlayer bonding makes PEKK suitable for components that must withstand loads across multiple print orientations.

Its high strength and overall performance allow it to be considered for metal-replacement applications where reduced weight, corrosion resistance, electrical insulation, or design complexity provides an advantage.

PEKK can be used for aerospace, automotive, industrial, electronics, research, medical-development, and advanced-manufacturing applications. Customers working in regulated applications must confirm that the material grade, printed process, post-processing, and relevant certifications satisfy their particular requirements.

The filament is supplied in a natural color, has a diameter of 1.75 mm, and is available in 250 g, 500 g, and 1 kg spool sizes.

Processing PEKK requires a high-temperature industrial printer. The INTAMSYS FUNMAT HT provides a nozzle temperature of up to 450°C, a build platform reaching 160°C, and a heated chamber reaching 90°C.

The material properties are described on the official INTAMSYS PEKK page.

Compatibility

Compatible printer:
INTAMSYS FUNMAT HT Enhanced

Recommended support material:
INTAMSYS SP5000

Because PEKK is not fiber-filled, it does not have the same abrasive-fiber nozzle requirement as PEEK-CF or PEEK-GF. Use the appropriate INTAMSYS high-temperature printhead and follow the FUNMAT HT material profile.

Storage and handling

  • Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area.
  • Keep the container or packaging closed.
  • Protect the filament from moisture contamination.
  • Keep away from heat, sparks, flames, and ignition sources.
  • Provide suitable exhaust ventilation during printing.
  • Take precautions against static discharge.
  • Wear gloves when handling hot or molten material.
  • Molten PEKK can cause severe burns; do not remove molten polymer directly from skin.
  • Follow local disposal and workplace-safety requirements.
